About the Buzz Lee Memorial scholarship fund
The Buzz Lee Memorial Scholarship Fund was started by The Lee Family in honor of their husband and father, William "Buzz" Lee who passed away in December of 2002. Buzz started a scholarship fund as a way to help support the local schools with vocational programs. With the help of the Tillson residents and many visitors, his family has been able to expand the scholarship to support "Pay to Participate" programs, vocational programs, cancer research and Veterans organizations like; Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), www.woundedwarrior.org and Gary Sinise Organization, garysinisefoundation.org. When Buzz passed away from a Glioblastoma Multiforme tumor, the family created the scholarship fund in his name. Buzz served in the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne and fought at Hamburger Hill. The Lee Family wanted to honor his service and support our wounded veterans by adding the donation to Veterans Organizations. The Lee Family is grateful to be able to add donations to cancer research through the support of all the visitors who come to Tillson St each year. Thank you for your continued support. You can get updates on the Buzz Lee Scholarship Fund on our facebook page: @buzzleememorial.

Harper S. Business Head Leader FIRST Robotics Competition Team 3539, Byting Bulldogs Thank you so much for your family's continued support! As you know, our team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition. The FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting, worldwide event that unites professionals and young people together in solving a problem through robotics. Our season begins in January with six weeks of designing, building, and testing a game-ready robot. We then transition into the competition season which culminates at the World Championship event in Houston, Texas. Last school year, our team competed in two District Competitions, the Michigan State Championships, and the World Championships! By supporting a FIRST team, your organization plays a key role in increasing the number of students pursuing degrees in engineering and technology! |

Wounded Warrior Project
About WWP:
Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) began in 2003 as a small, grassroots effort providing simple care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of the first wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. As their post-service needs evolved, so have our programs and services. Today, through our direct programs in mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care, along with our advocacy efforts, we improve the lives of millions of warriors and their families. This effort requires the passion and commitment of friends, supporters, and like-minded organizations that enable us to fulfill our mission. With their collaboration and support, we strive to ensure that when those who serve come home, they’re afforded every opportunity to be as successful as a civilian as they were in the military. |

Folds of Honor
About FOH:
It began with Lt Col Dan Rooney’s flight home from his second tour of duty in Iraq. An F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, he became painfully aware of the realities families face when a loved one in uniform is fallen or disabled. As his flight landed, the pilot announced they carried the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin on board. Lt Col Rooney watched as Corporal Bucklin’s twin brother walked somberly alongside the flag-covered casket to meet his family on the tarmac. Among them was the deceased Corporal’s young son, Jacob. Since that night, Lt Col Rooney has committed his life to rallying patriotic Americans and meeting sacrifice with hope through the Folds of Honor. Since 2007, we’ve provided life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military. And now, our mission expands to the families of America’s first responders. On our watch, those who protect our freedoms and our families will know they are not forgotten. |
